1. Why might it have taken so long for most women to start working outside the home?
2. Why do you think Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act, even if she herself won't get any money because of it?
3. Why do you think a pay gap still exists between men and women? What can be done to completely close this gap?

1. It might have taken so long for most women to start working outside of home because of kids or there afraid of what job they're going to get.
2. I think Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act, even though she wouldn't get any money because she cares about other people.
3. I think a pay gap still exists between men and women because most men are stronger then most women and that would mean the men would do the most challenging work so they would get payed more. To close this gap I think men and women should just get paid for how much their salary is and not have it not be lowered for the women. 18
1. It might have taken so long for women to work outside of home because they had to wash clothes and other things like that, and when men had to go to war, the women had to take over the businesses.
2. I think Ledbetter fair pay act, even if she doesn't get payed herself because she thinks its unfair that women get payed less then men, even though both men and women have the same job and they do the same things.
3. I think a gap still exists between men and women because not everyone commits to it because they still think men should get payed more than women. To completely close this gap, we should make a law to let women get payed the same as men, so that this argument can end and every one can be happy.

1. It might have taken so long for most woman to start working outside the home because they were always needed and all the men could do the jobs needed to be done.
2.I think that Ledbetter for the Fair Pay Act even though she won't get any money because of it because she wanted to make sure that somebody else didn't get hurt b it.
3.I think the pay gap still exists between men and woman because no one brought it up. One thing that can be done to close the gap is more woman can protest.

1. It has taken so long for women to start working outside of home because mens salary was more and some women didn't like that.
2.Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act even thought she won't get any money because she didn't want her grand daughters to have this unfair pay.
3.I think a pay gap still exists between the two genders is because it didn't feel important to anyone so why should they waste their time on something so useless which was the wrong thing to do. What could be done is having a vote for everyone who wants to decide to have the pay gap closed or not and children can too because they will grow up to this.

1.
It took so long for women to start working out of the house because they probably thought that they were meant to be in the home to cook, clean, and generally take care of the family. It also might have been that the men thought they were protecting their wives from the "dangers of the business world".

I think Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act even though she wouldn't benefit because she did it for the greater good of all women. She knew she wouldn't get any money, but she did it because she felt she needed to.
3.
A pay gap still exists between men and women because no one really agrees that women should get the same pay as men. This gap could be closed by having people understand that women do work as hard as men and deserve the same pay.

1.Why might it have taken so long for most women to start working outside the home is because maybe some woman enjoyed it and really did not care!
2. I think Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act, even if she herself won't get any money because of it because even if she doesn't pay she still gets equal rights!
3. I think a pay gap still exists between men and women because no one, I think has ever really made a big deal about it until now! What can be done to completely close this gap is a law saying that men and woman should have equal pay!

It may have taken so long for women to start working out of home because for a long time woman had the job to work in the house and cook and clean, and that has carried on for decades until World War 2.
I thing Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act because she knew that women were getting paid less. She knew how that felt and she knew it was not fair. So instead of complaining and whining she was ready to fight for what is right.
I think the reason there is still a pay gap between men and woman is because a lot of people are disagreeing and still think only men should get larger pay. To close this gap people who are helping in this cause can persuade other people to do what is right. Maybe a march or (non violent) rebellion could help.

It might have taken so long for most women to start working outside of home because men were getting more privileges than women are. I think Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act is because she wanted men and women to have the same amount of money. I think that a pay gap still exists between men and women is because the government maybe thinks that men do more work then women is what I think.I also think to close this gap that women and men should be able to have the same amount of money payed to us.17
It might have taken so long for women to work outside the house because the men wanted the women to stay home and take care of the kids and make food and stuff like that.
Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act because even if herself did not get any money out of it because there are to many people that have kids and they don't have any money to buy food.
I think the pay gap still exsist between men and women because women want to have the same money as men. They could close the gap if every body gets the same money even if you are a man and a girl.
Number 2
1) It might have taken so long for most women to start working outside is because men and women were just used to men work, women don't. World War 2 is the only reason women work today.
2)I think Ledbetter fought for the Fair Pay Act, even if she wouldn't get paid because of it is because Ledbetter didn't want just her to have equal pay, but all women.
3)I think a pay gap still exists between men and women is because some people might have not liked the idea of having women the same pay as men. the boss is the boss. He/she can make their own decisions. Maybe they were one of the people that didn't like the idea, so they made the mens' paycheck higher, and the womens' paycheck lower.
