Appoint or Elect?
The US Constitution allows Governors to appoint new US Senators when Senators who were elected leave. Some people say that's not democratic. They say voters should pick new Senators in special elections. Others say Governors should. They say special elections are too costly. What do you think? Should voters pick new senators?

I think that we should not vote for the senators because is uses to muck money. I think that we should only spend that much money on a vote if it is a vote for the president. I think that only the Governors should vote for the senators.

I think we should have new senators because I think we should see if other people want to be one and the new one could be really nice and make good decisions for the country!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone should pick there new senators because they could pick who they want to pick. Then it is even for anybody to win.
People will get really mad if the government got to pick who should win. They will get angry if they did not get to be part of the government. People should make there own decisions.

Yes, I think that we should vote on a new senator because people should get chance to have a say in the mater. No, voters should not pick senators for the next few years, or until we get a more stable economical system. Right now the government can't afford to have special elections, but in a few years, when the economical system is better and we can afford it.

I think the people should get to vote for the new senator because it is there senator and most of people might think that the person is a loon and hate him/her.24
I think that it is unfair that the governors get to deside allon there own. I think that the govener should get to pick 3 or 4 senetors and then the people wouldget to vote on those senetors. That way it's not totally made up by 1 or the other side they get a happy medium.

I think that voters should pick new senators because voters have the write to vote for president I think they should have the right to vote for senators too.

I think voters should not pick new senators if they have to change the Constitution for it! I like the Constitution the way it is!

I think it would be fair that the citizens got to vote for the senators instead of always having the governors do it. The people who say the special elections are to costly or expensive they are right. I bet the elections for the president were very expensive because they had to provide the sheets and books for the people to vote so both ideas are good but bad at the same time!
