Online Schools?
Next fall, a new law in Florida will require its school districts to set up optional online schools for students in kindergarten through eighth grade. The law will give parents more options for schooling their kids. Supporters of online schooling say it allows kids to learn at their own rates and get specialized instruction. But others say that it's important for kids to interact with other kids at school. What do you think? Would you like to attend an online school? (from Scholastic News, Edition 5/6, January 12, 2009)

I would not like to attend an online school because we would not meet any friends and we wont be active we oldwould we wouldn't be playing outside with some new or maybe old friends. If I was on a computer I would not be like I am right now with tons of friends.

I think that you could chose to go to a online school or a regular school and I think it is better to go to regular school so you could interact with other students.

I would want to use am online school cause I would get to learn at my own pace and no one could ever make fun of me or any one else cause people learn at there own pace but I would be kinda sad cause I wont get to see my friends

I would rather attend school than tack online school because I like to see my friends and learn with the class and have fun and with online school you can't do any of that.even though you can start when you like it just wouldn't be the same.1
I would like to attend a online school, because if you lost your voice in a school where you were actually there, you couldn't participate. At an online school, you can work at your own pace, and you can talk with your fingers, not your voice.

My opinion about the online school is that it is a bad idea because if you don't understand something you can't ask anyone for help. Also, you might not be able to hangout with friends. Therefore it is a very bad idea.18
No I would not like to attend an online school because kids would be to distracted with friends, pets, t.v., and other types of computer games.

No, I would not. School makes you get to know friends, and learn with students. This way friends can help students too, and the teacher will let the anybody learn at their own pace.

I don't think it is a very good idea because most kids have a bunch of friends and wouldn't want to stay home and what if you have brothers and sisters only one person can be on a computer.I don't know if any one else has three or more computers but I sure don't.Plus if I did do online school I would have to stay home alone.

I would not like to attend an online school because then it would be much harder to make friends in an online school district. It would be hard to interact with other students and teachers. Also if you stared at the computer all day soon your brain would be jello!

I wouldn't want go to an online school because because first of all, I think that it is cool that I get to interact with my friends every day!
I do not want an online schools one bit. At a normal school you get to meet more friends. Plus you know how they said students will be able to learn at their own pace? What if someones pace is a lesson a year, think about that.
