How is LenseyNamioka's "ski pants" story a good opening for a theme about people getting involved in each other's lives?

"Ski pants" is a good opening to a them about getting involved because, it tells about how the girls dad is so worried about his family saying an American word that he gets involved in his kids life. He is alway listening so he could tell if they said an American word. 24
Lensey Namioka's ''ski pants" story is a good opening because Lenseys dad gets involved by being strict on speaking Chinese. That one day when there was not a word for ski pants turned out to be a joke for later and during that people got involved.
Lensey Namioka's letter on ski pants is a perfect opening because the whole section is about Lensey's father keeping his children's past alive by speaking only Chinese at home. Doing this gets him involved in his children's lives.
It is a good theme because I can understand why her dad would make them pay a fine because Chinese is probably very important in there family and it might connect with other peoples lives so they understand each other
Lensey Namiokia's story is a good opening for the theme because, she used two English words, but she couldn't say ski pants! This tripped up her father and now it is a personal joke between the two.
I think it was a good opening to the theme because it shows that his father was so concerned with them and keeping there Chinese history still in touch.And it shows that he cares about his family remembering that they do speak Chinese as well as English.Personally I think it was a good choice making them pay for an English word but I also think that It was a good choice not making them pay for the words "ski pants" because you cant say it in Chinese.
